Avens Gallery… Your Canmore Art Destination 

Chatting with artists that are creating works of art in-house is an experience that will stimulate the senses, inspire and invite you in to the creative process. It’s a great way to interact, connect, and watch a blank canvas magically turn into a beautiful mountainous landscape or a piece of soapstone rock become a bear 

We were thrilled to have artists Branko Marjanovic and Heather Pant painting in the gallery last weekend! Branko has a vision of his own, stylizing the realistic landscape as he explores it but bringing in the abstract palette that he sees. He paints the feeling of the day, rather than exactly as he sees it. To watch him in action is an experience you won't forget. In fact, when he was done, one of our Avens team just had to buy the demo painting for herself! 

Heather Pant: To meet her and watch her paint is an experience in itself. Heather is a force. You will feel that each time you experience her art. When you look at her art, you feel like you know her. She captures the intrinsic flow in life that is both energetic and grounding. Right now she is offering a gift of a new book with purchase of her original paintings. It is called Rocks, Ridges, and Rivers by geologist Dale Leckie, featuring Heather Pant Art.
