Mount Engadine Lodge – Your Home Base This Larch Season 

Summer holidays have once again come and gone, but that doesn't mean there isn't still lots of sunny days left in Canmore and Kananaskis as the warm weather will no doubt continue into September for another beautiful month of hiking and outdoor adventures.

September also means the arrival of Larch season, a time that many hikers call their favourite of the year. The golden larches should arrive sometime in the third week of this month and Mount Engadine Lodge is the ideal location for enjoying the best Larch hikes in Kananaskis. Many of the most popular larch trails such as Rummel Lake, Chester Lake and Burstall Pass are located just minutes from the lodges front door ensuring you will be on the trails in no time after finishing your hot breakfast and grabbing your bagged lunch to go. If you’re unsure what trail is best for your experience level, just ask the friendly staff who will be happy to help you select the right trail and loan you have a can of bear spray to stay safe while enjoying the local wilderness.

After adventuring through the magnificent golden larches, and working up a good appetite in the process, you will arrive back at the lodge for their afternoon tea service which consists of a locally sourced charcuterie board, strudel for dessert, and coffee or tea, but make sure to check the cocktail menu as well. If you choose to enjoy your charcuterie on the deck, and you may just get lucky and be treated to moose sighting in the picturesque valley below which is known to be a favourite spot for local wildlife to visit.

Mount Engadine Lodge is an all-inclusive experience with all meals included in the cost of your stay (alcohol not included).
