Roam Transit Summer Service Starts May 16 – Here’s What’s New

Roam Public Transit is excited to kick off their summer service season on May 16. In Canmore, the Route 12 to Grassi Lakes will be returning this year and will be servicing Palliser Trail area instead of Spring Creek, and is running 7 days a week. Read about our important service increases and route changes below:

Service Increases:

Expect schedule updates on Route 3(Canmore to Banff), 5C, and 5T (Canmore Routes)
Route 1 and Route 2 have service increases (Banff Routes)
Routes 4 (Local Banff) and Route 6 (Banff to Lake Minnewanka) return with daily service through September 28.

Route Changes:

Route 12 will service the Palliser Trail area. Route 12 is a summer only service.
Route 5T will stop at 10th Street instead of the 9th Street Transit Hub — saving riders a few minutes each trip
Stop name changes in Canmore: Palliser at Silvertip is now Palliser Trail East, Benchlands Trail Overpass is now Benchlands Overpass South.

There are buses to Lake Louise (Route 8x) & Johnston Canyon (Route 9) as well!

Roam Transit Launches 2026 Summer Schedules for Banff, Canmore & Lake Louise

Summer transit service is now underway in the Bow Valley as Roam Transit launches updated schedules for the 2026 season. Beginning May 13, expanded service includes the return of seasonal Banff routes and extended Route 12 access from downtown Canmore to the popular Grassi Lakes Trailhead. Visitors planning trips to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake can now secure summer reservations for the 8X service and Super Pass options, making it easier than ever to explore the Canadian Rockies without a vehicle.
