Lunch with my daughter started with a warm welcome from Basma, the gracious and knowledgeable manager who walked us through the seasonal menu. Every dish at Murrieta’s celebrates bold flavours and fresh ingredients, and the passion behind it shines through.

We toasted our day out with some crafted drinks from the bar. My daughter chose the refreshing Bee’s Nectar, a buzz-worthy mocktail made with honey, lemon, and botanical flavours that was fresh and energizing. For those who prefer something with just a bit more edge, the Strawberry Basil Smash cocktail is a standout—sweet, light, herbaceous -- it tasted like summer in a glass.

We kicked things off with the Tempura Prawns. Each prawn was a billowy golden delight, its airy, crisp batter giving way to plump, juicy seafood within. Served with a tagorashi aioli that added a bit of citrusy kick. They were all a generous two- bite prawns that felt as indulgent as it was irresistible. These disappeared quickly and made us eager to try more of the menu.

When it came to mains, the Scallop Fettuccine with Chorizo became an instant favourite for my pasta loving daughter. Creamy, rich, and bursting with flavour, the tender scallops paired beautifully with the smoky chorizo.

We also tried the Cedar Plank Salmon, which was perfectly cooked and subtly infused with the woodsy aroma of the plank. The honey glaze and pepper flecks were chef touches that married the flavours of summer. A lemon squeeze gave it a zesty lift that perfectly complemented the rich, tender salmon. Plated with fresh green beans and a potato mash, this dish is a go-to for a healthy yet indulgent option.

To end on a sweet note, the Earl Grey Chocolate Cake was pure decadence. With layers of rich ganache and subtle notes of bergamot, it was the kind of dessert you don’t rush—every bite was a delight.
