In Canmore, the annual Festival of Trees, presented by the Rotary Club of Canmore and the Malcolm Hotel, tells us the season is upon us. Come celebrate Christmas in Canmore!

Beginning the first week of December, local businesses and community organizations will decorate more than 80 trees & wreaths that line the halls of the Malcolm Hotel. They will vie for the top spot in a friendly Christmas décor competition. Our tree competitor’s hard work will show in whimsical, beautiful, clever, traditional, and honoring, trees that create corridors of wonder throughout the hotel. Everyone is welcome to walk the halls to see & feel the spirit of the holidays.

The Festival of Trees is the Rotary Club of Canmore’s largest fundraiser of the year. Last year, nearly $100,000 was raised; enabling the Club to give to even more organizations than the year before!

Once the halls are decked and the people come to wander through this enchanted forest, the Festival has begun. We celebrate throughout the month of December with a series of holiday events. The Spirits of Christmas tasting experience will offer fine wines, whiskeys, spirits, craft beers, curated hors d'oeuvres and lots of laughter on Friday, December 6th. Kids of all ages can attend a Kid's Holiday Extravaganza on Dec. 8th, where there will be crafts, goodies, games and stories. On Dec. 11th, there will be a Senior’s Christmas Afternoon Tea for our most respected citizens. And be sure not to miss the annual Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 15th.

Registration for these jolly events will open in November.
