The Pine Tree Players presents The Summer Theatre Festival 2024

Every summer the Pine Tree Players, Canmore’s community theatre group, present to us the Summer Theatre Festival outside in Centennial Park. This year the group will be performing two productions, The Snow Queen and Dracula, A Feminst Revenge Fantasy.

The Snow Queen: Showing July 10-July 21st

The Snow Queen by Charles Way, is based on a story by Hans Christian Andersen. Kelsey James directs this story of childhood friends who get separated when one is stolen away by the Snow Queen. Her friend must brave the elements to rescue her, embarking on a quest across the seasons. With the help of new friends she meets along the way, she must find the courage to save her friend and the world from endless winter.

Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy: Showing July 10-July 20th

Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy by Kate Hamill is based loosely on the novel by Bram Stoker, directed by Shelby Reinitz. This dark comedy adaptation tells the story of people fighting for good in a dark world where charming predators lurk around every corner. It’s fun and campy, sometimes a bit serious and unsettling, but, hey; it’s Dracula!
