The Canmore Highland Games ~ Canmore's Best Summer Festival
Experience the spirit of Scotland in the heart of the Canadian Rockies at the 2026 Canmore Highland Games, happening September 4–6 at Centennial Park in Canmore. This three-day celebration of Scottish culture, athleticism, music, and tradition brings together locals and visitors for an unforgettable Labour Day weekend in the mountains.
The festivities begin Friday with the popular Taste of the Highlands event, followed by a full weekend of Highland Games competitions, live Celtic music, pipe bands, highland dancing, the Canmore Ceilidh, and the lively Evening Hooly. Visitors can also explore the Scottish & Celtic Market, Clan Village, food trucks, and family-friendly entertainment throughout the weekend.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, the Canmore Highland Games is one of Alberta’s most iconic cultural festivals and a must-attend event for all ages.
