Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon Sept 8, 2024 ~ Run in the beautiful Canmore Rocky Mountains! 

Now in its 28th year, the Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon boasts one of Canada’s most beautiful races. The course runs through the streets of Canmore, in woodlands, beside mountain streams, and through a historic mine site, with stunning views of mountain scenery. The event is one of the Bow Valley’s oldest and biggest events, and runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome to join in the fun.

The popular 10KM and 5KM distances are fast, and flat. Both of these events have virtually no elevation gain as they travel through the town of Canmore and along the Bow River pathways. The Half Marathon distance runs out to the Three Sisters area, before returning to the Start/Finish area at Centennial Park, with roughly 60m of elevation gain along the way. The course is a combination of asphalt and high-quality gravel with several short climbs and winding paths. Water and aid stations will be available every 5km, on each course.

All participants in every distance will receive a beautiful, locally made wooden finisher medal. Additionally, all registrants will receive a stylish, custom buff athletic headband in their race packages. Finally, a free kids’ race, live music, and a beer garden make this event a fantastic and fun destination event.

The Canmore Rocky Mountain Half Marathon’s partnering charity is Embrace International Foundation, wit proceeds from the race benefiting Embrace’s essential charitable work in Canada, and around the globe. Embrace’s mission is to help children with disabilities live in a more just, loving, and accessible world.
